LCIA Signs Diversity Pledge 25 May 2016 The LCIA has signed the Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge as a mark of its continuing commitment to diversity in international arbitration. The LCIA’s commitment is demonstrated, for example, by standing practice to publish transparent data on arbitrators’ gender and first time appointments, and additional information about arbitrators’ nationality. The LCIA takes this opportunity to invite its members and friends of the LCIA and their organisations also to sign up to the Pledge. To do so, please click on the following link, where you can read about and sign up to the Pledge online. Take the Pledge The Commentary to the Pledge states “…it should be noted that those who conceived the Pledge did not intend to ignore or exclude other diversity initiatives. On the contrary, the Steering Committee and those consulted are supportive of all efforts to increase diversity in all its forms in the field of arbitration. The Pledge aspires to be a first step in the direction of achieving more equal representation of all under-represented groups in our arbitration community.” Gender is only one component of diversity. Diversity is diverse. The LCIA remains committed to enhancing all forms of diversity in international arbitration.
