Season's Greetings from the LCIA 19 December 2019 2019 has been another successful year for the LCIA, seeing a record number of cases registered at the LCIA and under the LCIA Rules. In the year that saw Paula Hodges QC take over as President of the LCIA Court, we were also pleased to welcome the arrival of Jamie Harrison, in the newly created role of LCIA Deputy Director General, and a new roster of LCIA Users’ Council Officers to help guide us in our international reach in the years ahead. In 2019, the LCIA intervened in The English Supreme Court procedure, Halliburton vs Chubb, reflecting its thought leadership in international arbitration and emphasizing the importance of London as the premier seat. Diversity in all its forms remained and remains an important driver for the LCIA in its casework practice, events and otherwise. The start of the new decade will see the launch of updates to the LCIA Rules, bolstered to include wording on compliance and GDPR and innovations in expediting proceedings. We look forward to what the New Year holds and hope to see you at one or another of our upcoming events. With best wishes for 2020 from all at the LCIA.
